What Should I Bring to My Meeting with the Notary?

It is essential that you bring the correct identity documents to your meeting. Without them, the notary will not be able to assist you.

Please make sure you bring:

  1. Your Passport or a Photo Driving Licence; and

  2. Proof of Address – this can be a recent utility bill (dated within the last four months), or a bank, mortgage, or credit card statement addressed to you at your current address.

We will scan copies of these documents and return the originals to you immediately.

Does the Notary Keep Copies of My Documents?

Yes. In almost all cases we will scan and securely store an electronic copy of your notarised documents, including your identification. These records are kept in accordance with strict professional requirements.

How Are Records Protected?

All notaries must register with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under data protection law.
We are registered with the ICO under Data Protection registration number Z2308783.

All information and documents are stored securely. They are protected in full compliance with the Data Protection Act, as well as the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. Strict rules apply, and we take these responsibilities very seriously.

What Does It Cost to Have a Document Notarised?

A straightforward appointment usually costs around £90. Before any work begins, we will always give you a clear written quotation for your approval.

The final cost can vary depending on what is required. For example:

  • If your document needs legalisation, consularisation, or a translation, the fee will be higher.

  • If a meeting is required outside office hours, during the evening, or on a weekend, the cost will increase.

  • If you have multiple documents, the fee will depend on the number and complexity of those documents.

  • Travel time and mobile notary services may also add to the overall fee.

We always provide an exact quotation in advance so that you know the cost before the appointment. Fees are transparent and tailored to your specific needs.

Disbursements, such as Foreign Office legalisation fees, consular fees, courier charges, or translator’s costs, may also apply. These are third-party payments that we make on your behalf, and they will be clearly itemised in your quotation.

We are a VAT-registered company. Our VAT Registration Number is 248 4697 59. VAT is charged at the current UK rate of 20%, except on certain disbursements where it is not applicable.
