Consular legalisation for Yemen
Notarisation of documents for Yemen
LEGALISATION AND APOSTILLE REQUIREMENTS
For documents intended for use in the Republic of Yemen, they must first be legalised with an Apostille from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). After this, the documents must be submitted to the Yemeni Consulate for further attestation. Commercial documents require additional attestation by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) before being presented to the Consulate. For commercial documents, three photocopies are required when submitting to the LCCI/ABCC. Documents such as Powers of Attorney or Authorisations of Agent must include the name and address of the Consignee or Agent in Yemen.
TIME AND FEES
The consular fee is £70 per private document if submitted by the document holder, or £400 if submitted via an agent. For commercial documents, the fee is £458.50 per document, which includes LCCI and ABCC fees. Processing time is typically 1–2 working days for private documents and 8–10 working days for commercial documents processed via the Chambers. Payment for direct Consulate submissions is by cash only; for LCCI submissions, payment can be made by card, company cheque, or bank transfer. The Consulate is open from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
