Consular legalisation for Vietnam

Notarisation of documents for Vietnam

LEGALISATION AND APOSTILLE REQUIREMENTS

To use a document in Vietnam, it must first be legalised with an Apostille from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). After this, the document needs to be submitted to the Vietnamese Consulate for further attestation. A photocopy of the Apostilled document must be included with your submission, along with a completed consular application form, either filled out and signed by the applicant or their agent. The Consulate allows documents to be bundled together under a single notarial certificate and Apostille.

Foreign documents can be legalised by the Consulate if they meet the FCDO’s Apostille requirements. Documents from the Crown Dependencies, once Apostilled in the relevant territory, can be submitted directly without needing a UK FCDO Apostille. For documents from the British Overseas Territories, an Apostille from the territory is required first, followed by a UK FCDO Apostille before submission to the Consulate.

TIME AND FEES

The consular fee is £40 per document for standard service, or £60 per document for express service. Standard service takes 5 working days, while express service is completed in 1 working day. Payment must be made in cash. The Consulate is open for submissions from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
