Consular legalisation for Democratic Republic of Congo
Notarisation of documents for Democratic Republic of Congo
LEGALISATION AND APOSTILLE REQUIREMENTS
Documents for use in the Democratic Republic of Congo must first be legalised with an Apostille from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), then submitted to the DRC Consulate for further attestation. All documents must be accompanied by a French translation, with the translation attached to the original English version. When submitting, include a photocopy of the Apostilled document, a copy of the applicant’s passport, and recent proof of residential address. If the document is a Power of Attorney signed by multiple individuals, these requirements apply to each signatory. A completed consulate application form is also necessary, and the online form must be filled out by agents after securing an appointment with the Consulate.
TIME AND FEES
The consular fee is £150 per document, and processing typically takes 1 to 2 weeks. Payment is accepted by card only. Submissions are accepted from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
