LEGALISATION AND APOSTILLE REQUIREMENTS
For documents intended for use in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), there are two options: either obtain an Apostille from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), or have the document attested by the TRNC Representative Office in London. If you choose consular attestation, the document must not bear an FCDO Apostille. In this case, the document should be certified by a UK Notary Public or Solicitor, and their signature will be directly attested by the consular officer. A notarised passport copy for each signatory must be stapled to the Power of Attorney requiring legalisation. Documents should be stapled only, as the Consulate will remove any bindings, ribbons, or eyelets to apply their stamp.
TIME AND FEES
The consular fee is £25 per document or signature, plus a postal order fee starting from £5 depending on the payment amount. Processing typically takes 2–5 working days for postal submissions. Payment can be made by cash or postal order payable to the KKTC Consolidate Fund. Prior appointment is required for in-person submissions, while postal service remains the quickest option. Opening hours are 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
