Consular legalisation for Libya

Notarisation of documents for Libya

LEGALISATION & APOSTILLE REQUIREMENTS
Foreign and Commonwealth Office Legalisation required.
This is followed by legalisation from Libyan Consulate in London. Some commercial documents are required to be submitted to London and the Arab Chambers of Commerce in London prior to submitting to the Libyan Consulate for further attestation.

Certificate of origin and invoices are required to be legalised via London and Arab Chambers of Commerce and the fees are based on the sum in the transaction.

If commercial documents are to be legalised by the Chambers, a translation of each document into Arabic will be required (for their internal use only and not required to be notarised/legalised in itself).

TIME AND FEES
For consular legalisation only, please allow up to 1-2 working days. The Libyan Consulate is closed on Fridays. If the legalisation involves the London and Arab Chambers of Commerce, the turnaround time is likely to be 8-10 working days for consular legalisation.

The legalisation fee charge of the Libyan Consulate is £20 per document. If documents are required to be legalised by the London and Arab Chamber of Commerce, additional fees of £48.03 per document for standard service (turnaround time 2 weeks) or £87.03 for express service ( turnaround time 3-4 working days) apply.
