Consular legalisation for Kuwait

Notarisation of documents for Kuwait

LEGALISATION AND APOSTILLE REQUIREMENTS

For documents to be used in Kuwait, legalisation is first required from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) with an Apostille, followed by further attestation at the Consulate of Kuwait. Commercial documents, such as agreements, certificates of origin, and invoices, may also need to be legalised through the London and Arab-British Chambers of Commerce before submission to the Consulate. The Consulate accepts bundling multiple documents under the same Apostille, except for personal documents related to visa applications, which must be processed individually. Additional requirements apply for certain personal and commercial documents, including supporting identification and specific formats for visa and birth certificate applications.

TIME AND FEES

The consular fee is £15 per document. If commercial documents require further legalisation by the London and Arab-British Chambers of Commerce, the total fee is £73.50 per document, including Chambers’ fees. Fees for invoices and certificates of origin may vary depending on the invoice value. The usual processing time at the Consulate is 1–2 working days, while legalisation via the Chambers typically takes 7–10 working days. Payment is accepted in cash or by company cheque only. Submissions are accepted from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, with collections from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
