Consular legalisation for Iran
Notarisation of documents for Iran
LEGALISATION AND APOSTILLE REQUIREMENTS
For documents to be used in Iran, they must first be legalised with an Apostille from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and then submitted to the Iranian Consulate for further attestation. Commercial documents can be either Apostilled by the FCDO or certified by the London Chamber of Commerce before submission to the Consulate. For private Powers of Attorney, the document holder must appear in person at the consular section with their original passport, as agent submissions are no longer accepted.
TIME AND FEES
The consular fee is £57 per document, though some commercial documents may incur a higher fee of £73.50 per document, depending on the specifics confirmed at submission. Processing time is typically 2–3 working days. Payment is accepted by bank transfer only. Legalisation services are available from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
