Consular legalisation for Burma
Notarisation of documents for Burma
LEGALISATION AND APOSTILLE REQUIREMENTS
To use documents in Burma (Myanmar), they must first be legalised with an Apostille from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), followed by further attestation at the Myanmar Consulate. The Consulate in London processes legalisation by appointment only and accepts documents from the British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies, provided they have been Apostilled by the FCDO. Documents from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and the Republic of Ireland must be attested by the relevant government authority in their country of origin before submission. The Consulate will not accept documents from any other countries or regions, even if the documents relate to a UK business representative; such documents must be legalised in the country where the company is incorporated.
TIME AND FEES
The fee for consular legalisation is £50 per document. Processing time is typically 2–3 weeks. Payment is accepted in cash only.
