Consular legalisation for Qatar
Notarisation of documents for Qatar
LEGALISATION AND APOSTILLE REQUIREMENTS
For documents to be used in Qatar, they must first be legalised with an Apostille from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), followed by further attestation at the Consulate of Qatar in London. Commercial documents—such as certificates of origin, invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading—must be attested by the London and Arab-British Chambers of Commerce before submission to the Consulate. Bundled documents are not accepted; each document must be individually notarised and Apostilled. Only documents from the UK, Republic of Ireland, Norway, Iceland, Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Channel Islands, and British Overseas Territories are accepted, and these must be properly attested or Apostilled in their country of origin before submission. For educational certificates, the Consulate requires the degree or diploma, transcript, and a cover letter from the issuing institution confirming specific details about the qualification and study. Certificates obtained via distance learning or online programs are not accepted.
TIME AND FEES
The consular fee is £22 per private document and £33 per commercial document, except for invoices, which are charged based on the invoice amount. Processing time is typically 10–15 working days. Submission and return of documents are handled exclusively via postal service. Payment must be made by company cheque or postal order only. Submissions are accepted from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
