Consular legalisation for Angola

Notarisation of documents for Angola

LEGALISATION AND APOSTILLE REQUIREMENTS

To be valid in Angola, documents must first receive an Apostille from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), followed by further legalisation at the Angolan Consulate. All documents must be translated into Portuguese, with the Portuguese translation placed before the original English version. The translation, including any notarial certificates, must be completed by a qualified UK-based translator who certifies its accuracy.

For private documents, applicants must provide a copy of their passport, residential address, contact details, email address, and parents’ names. For commercial documents, the director’s passport copy, company registered address, contact information, and potentially additional documents such as the Certificate of Incorporation and Memorandum & Articles of Association are required. If the documents pertain to a foreign company, the Certificate of Incorporation must be certified by the diplomatic authority of the issuing country and translated into Portuguese. A photocopy of each document is required upon submission. For foreign companies, the Memorandum & Articles of Association must also be included, with the English version being sufficient for translation in this case.

TIME AND FEES

The standard consular fee is £174 per document, while the express service costs £348 per document. Standard processing typically takes 10–15 working days; express service is completed in approximately 5–6 working days. Payment is accepted by card or bank transfer only. Submissions are accepted Monday to Thursday from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, with collections available on Fridays.
