LEGALISATION AND APOSTILLE REQUIREMENTS

To use documents in Afghanistan, they must first be legalised with an Apostille from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), followed by further authentication at the Afghan Consulate.

TIME AND FEES

For commercial or personal documents belonging to non-Afghan nationals, the consular legalisation fee is £500 per document. The legalisation fee charge of the Consulate of Afghanistan is £500 per commercial document and Educational documents are £150 for Non-Afghan applicants and £50 for Afghan applicants, who must provide a passport copy as proof of nationality. The standard processing time at the consulate is typically three working days. When legalising educational certificates, both the original and a notarised, Apostilled copy must be submitted. Payments are accepted by card or postal order only. The Consulate operates Monday to Friday, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.
