Nearly all London Consulates reserve the right to change their opening times, fee scales and turn around times at short notice and invariably do so!.
Many Consulates will be closed on the religious holidays for their jurisdiction.
Please always contact the Consulate directly to verify their opening times before you make any firm plans based around their advertised timescale, which may change at short notice.
Consulate opening times are often amended at short notice and the information shown below is based on currently advertised times in 2014 and is subject to change and amendment.

TIME AND FEES
The turnaround time is likely to be 1-2 working days for consular legalisation. The legalisation fee charge of the Egyptian Consulate is £40 per document for personal documents and £110 per document for company documents. However, for many financial documents the Egyptian Consulate can state they will charge a percentage of the value of the transaction as stated in the document and the legalisation fee can therefore potentially become very costly!

However, if a document is translated into Greek by an official translator registered with the General Consulate of Greece in London, the translation can be certified by the Consulate. In this case, the Consulate will certify the translator’s signature only.

REQUIREMENTS
Documents for use in Hong Kong usually require Foreign and Commonwealth Office Apostille only.
However, if further consular legalisation is still required by the instructing party in Hong Kong, this can be provided by the Chinese Consulate in London.
The consular application form must be duly filled in, dated and signed for submission along with the documentation and passport copy of the applicant/agent (purpose for legalisation must also be provided).
For documents in relation to private matters, the holder of the document is required to present photocopy of his valid ID (passport or UK driving License) along with the document requiring legalisation.
If the legalisation concerns commercial documents, the company’s legal representative must present a valid ID (passport or UK driving License), and a Companies House document showing his status as a legal representative of the company (e.g. Current Appointments Report or Certificate of Incorporation with Directors confirmation).
Documents certified by a notary public must have a notarial certificate and be properly bound with ribbon and seal to avoid rejection.
Photocopy of all documents is required.

TIME AND FEES
Please allow 3 working days for express service and 4 working days for standard service for consular legalisation. The legalisation fee charge of the Chinese Consulate is £15 per document for private matters and £25 per document for commercial matters. If express service is required, an additional fee of £15 per document applies.
